The Academy of Excellence provides world class strength and conditioning coaching. The programming has been designed to assist young athletes in their chosen sport and has been developed by some of the best strength and conditioning coaches in the area – if not the world!

It has been created for young elite athletes in the area to develop their sporting skills and fulfil their sporting potential. The Academy’s main goal is to improve athletic performance, reduce the risk of injury, and condition their bodies in preparation for their sporting goals.

We currently have lots of different athletes taking part in the Academy so if your child is serious about a chosen sport and would like to develop their potential; the Academy is the best place to start!


Sue Richard has excelled in the fitness industry for over 20 years. Through her various roles as a Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor, Team Trainer and Club Manager she has inspired thousands of health club members towards incredible results. Sue is regarded internationally for her passion in developing and training personal trainers and it is in her role as the director of Training for TRIBE Team Training™ where she inspires TRIBE Coaches around the world to become the absolute best in what they do. At ProActive, she coaches TribeLIFE and leads her team members to achieve more than they ever thought possible!

Since starting out in the fitness industry as the age of 17, I have tried to continually develop my knowledge and also my career. As well as being an instructor, trainer and coach, I have also trained and educated individuals in becoming fitness Instructors and Personal Trainers. My passion for personal training and coaching originates from my enjoyment and satisfaction of helping clients to achieve goals, exceed their potential and change their lives/lifestyle for the better and for their future. Working with a number of professional athletes from different sporting fields on specialised rehabilitation, nutritional and pre/post competition programmes has allowed me not only to immensely enjoy my continuing exercise and fitness journey, but to work with some amazing professionals

I'm a Wanaka raised local with a passion for making fitness fun and functional!

My focus is to inspire long-term healthy habits whilst building a strong body, combining balance and flexibility training for optimal wellness in the demands of daily life.

Whether it is full body toning, weight loss, strength and/or athletic performance goals, I have the knowledge and experience to get you results and create lifestyle habits to last a lifetime. You can find me on the gym floor as a Personal Trainer, upstairs coaching TRIBE, training young athletes in Academy of Excellence, or teaching Les Mills classes.
