The Academy of Excellence provides world class strength and conditioning coaching. The programming has been designed to assist young athletes in their chosen sport and has been developed by some of the best strength and conditioning coaches in the area – if not the world!
It has been created for young elite athletes in the area to develop their sporting skills and fulfil their sporting potential. The Academy’s main goal is to improve athletic performance, reduce the risk of injury, and condition their bodies in preparation for their sporting goals.
We currently have lots of different athletes taking part in the Academy so if your child is serious about a chosen sport and would like to develop their potential; the Academy is the best place to start!
Sue Richard has excelled in the fitness industry for over 20 years. Through her various roles as a Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor, Team Trainer and Club Manager she has inspired thousands of health club members towards incredible results. Sue is regarded internationally for her passion in developing and training personal trainers and it is in her role as the director of Training for TRIBE Team Training™ where she inspires TRIBE Coaches around the world to become the absolute best in what they do. At ProActive, she coaches TribeLIFE and leads her team members to achieve more than they ever thought possible!
Aaron is a Peak Performance Coach. Looking at nutrition, movement, mind-set and recovery strategies for optimal health and performance.
After working overseas for 15 years with a wide range of clients from Olympic athletes to CEO’s and weekend warriors, Aaron has come to Wanaka to take some of his own advice. Restoring a work life balance. Sessions with Aaron will be fun, varied and results driven.
Suzette has worked in the fitness industry as a Personal Trainer since 2012, and is passionate about her clients’ wellbeing. She has experience working with clients of different ages and levels of fitness and recently completed her Sport and Exercise Science degree. Suzette welcomes the opportunity to work with any level of athlete, from beginners of all ages who want to become more comfortable and confident in the gym, through to those who have specific goals they would like to achieve.
She is friendly and personable with the drive and enthusiasm required to keep you inspired and on track while staying accountable to your goals. She will be available to offer consistent support and encouragement to have you feeling fantastic and get you where you need to be.
My name is Jason Clarke, one of your Tribe Punch Coaches. I have a Graduate Diploma in Applied Science - Physical Conditioning Specialty, Diploma in Massage Therapy, Diploma in Sporting Performance, and I am a High Performance Sport New Zealand Provider. I have worked with several teams including: All Blacks, Wallabies Rugby Team, England Netball Team, Olympic Gold winning Fiji 7s Team, Warriors Rugby League team, and with this knowledge I’m looking forward to providing our tribe punch athletes with more understanding of the sport of boxing and kickboxing and a greater confidence within themselves. My aim is to ensure that every athlete is motivated and challenged not only mentally but physically to new levels of fitness, strength and of course fighting skills.
Shane grew up playing every sport he had access to and early on had a particular love for rugby and running and all things training. This lead him to Otago University where he did degrees in Physical Education and Psychology. Following Uni Shane spent some time working and cycling across Europe. After travelling and a decade of working as a social worker with youth, Shane returned to his roots and his passion for sport and performance . This lead Shane to completing a Masters in Psychology studying the work stressors of professional rugby players and a Masters in Sport and Exercise Science studying the importance of warm ups in cold environments.
For the past 8 years Shane has been working as a Strength & Conditioning coach for High Performance Sport New Zealand based in Wanaka and has been lucky enough to travel the world working alongside some of the best freestyle skiers and snowboarders in the business. His training & coaching approach revolves round doing the basics exceptionally well, giving athletes and clients a little of what they want and a lot of what they need. When not in the gym or travelling with the team, Shane can be found running or biking on the tracks around Wanaka, paddling on the lake or holidaying in warm places.
